Pages and Files
Desktop publishing is defined as using a personal computer and page layout software to create publication documents for paper and book publishing. Adding Web 2.0 tools takes this a step further and allows the user to create directly on the web and distribute to a worldwide audience. Documents can include newsletters, postcards, cards, books and more. Using this means of publishing also allows multiple users to contribute to the content and design of publication, promoting collaboration and creativity among students.
In this part of the course you will learn how to use Mixbook, an online program for producing online books using pictures, text, backgrounds, and graphics. This program is an excellent tool for students to publish books about concepts learned in class. There are also more desktop publishing tools available for you to explore on your own. These provide tools to create newsletters, books, and more. You can navigate through this module by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of each page.
